There are airport connections from the south on Hwy-183
or Hwy-360, or from the north, on Hwy-114, Hwy-121
or Hwy-635. All exits are on the left. From central
Dallas, head north on I-35E, continue (northwest)
on Route 183, turn off onto Ramp DFW Airport, and
then continue (north) on International Parkway North
(toll road). From central Fort Worth, head north on
I-35 West, at Exit 52A turn off onto Ramp Route 121
north, merge onto Route 121 (Airport Freeway), continue
(north) on I-820, continue on Route 121 north then
Route 183 East, turn off onto Ramp DFW Airport/Amon
Carter Boulevard, and then continue (north) on International
Parkway North (toll road).

The car hire center is a 10-minute shuttle ride from
the airport; shuttles depart from the lower level
of each terminal. Car hire and pick-up is arranged
here. Advantage, Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise,
EZ Rent, Hertz, National and Thrifty are all represented;
courtesy telephones are located by baggage reclaim.

Multilingual information boards can be found throughout
the airport. Interactive visitor information centers
are located near the baggage reclaim areas providing
information and direct dialing to some transportation
options from the airport. Travelers Aid offices are
located in Terminals B and D. DFW Airport Ambassadors
are stationed throughout all terminals to provide
assistance, including directing passengers to connecting
flights, bag claim and other airport facilities.

Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport has an excellent
range of facilities. There are more than 100 shops
selling everything from electronic items to souvenirs.

lifetime. The 66 acres of lush, perfectly manicured

Rock Lake has 9-plus miles of waterfront trails;the
complete loop around the lake takes about three hours.
Also offered are fishing, sailing and horseback riding.
Those who enjoy bird watching will find that the lake
attracts a wide variety of birds; note especially
the green parrots at the south end of the lake. There
are also several playgrounds and picnic areas are
reservable. An experimental ecology center is in the

Dallas landmark has graced the downtown skyline since
1978. Three levels of activity top the 50-story structure,
which are encircled in a dome of lights. The triangle
formations of the structural cylinders encase the
elevators that carry passengers to the top levels
in 68 seconds. For the more actively inclined, an
837-step stairwell is located in the middle of the
tower. Over 200 lights add shimmer to the geodesic

Old Red Courthouse is an outstanding feature of the
Dallas County Historic Plaza. It was built in 1892
in Romanesque Revival style. It is constructed of
rough-cut, red pecos sandstone and trimmed in Arkansas
blue granite. The courthouse is listed on the National
Register of Historic Places as a City of Dallas Landmark
and a Recorded Texas Historical Landmark. Four prior
courthouses have graced the same location. The Visitor
Information Center is on the ground level, and the
