Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport Terminal Information

Atlanta International Airport has two terminals (north and south) where you will find ticketing, baggage reclaim, and check-in facilities. Connected to these terminals by a unique underground transit mall and subway train system are six concourses with all the flight gates and the majority of the concessions and amenities.

North Terminal

Car Rental

Hartsfield–Jackson Rental Car Center

The Hartsfield–Jackson Rental Car Center, scheduled for completion by November 2009, will house all ten current airport rental agencies with capacity for additional companies. The complex will feature 9,900 parking spaces split up between two four-story parking decks that together cover 2.8 million square feet, a 137,000 square foot customer service center, and a maintenance center for vehicles, which will feature 140 gas pumps,and 30 bays for washing, each one equipped with a water recovery system.The automated people mover, nicknamed the ATL Skytrain (using Mitsubishi Crystal Mover) will connect the facility to the airport and to the Gateway Center of the Georgia International Convention Center and the Hartsfield–Jackson Rental Car Center. A four-lane roadway will also be built across Interstate 85 to connect the Hartsfield–Jackson Rental Car Center to the existing airport road network.

Atlanta Airport provides visitors with the 4400-square-foot R. L. Brown, Jr. Grady Health Center for all medical and healthcare needs. The many services available at the Center include patient testing, pre-employment physicals, drug screenings, worker's compensation services, and acute care to supplement existing Airport Emergency Medical Services. General Information

Hartsfield–Jackson held its ranking as the world's busiest airport in 2008, both in terms of passengers and number of flights, by accommodating 90 million passengers and 978,824 flights. Atlanta sees ten million more passengers annually than the second-ranked airport Beijing Capital International Airport. Many of the nearly one million flights are domestic flights from within the United States where Atlanta serves as a major hub for travel throughout the Southern United States.

Hartsfield–Jackson International Airport has international service to North America, South America, Central America, Europe, Asia, and Africa. As an international gateway to the United States, Hartsfield–Jackson ranks seventh; John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City is first. However, the airport is increasingly becoming a major gateway for international flights; 2008 saw international traffic jump 3.18 percent over the previous year, with more than 4.6 million passengers boarding international flights.

The airport is located mostly in unincorporated areas in Fulton and Clayton counties; the city limits of Atlanta, College Park, and Hapeville extend to the airport grounds. The airport is reachable by train on MARTA.
