Europcar
is highlighting its fleet of green cars by creating
a dedicated eco-friendly section on its website, www.europcar.com. Europcar
is pursuing its green initiatives by giving maximum
visibility to its eco-friendly cars and by encouraging
consumers to choose a greener car when making reservations.
Europcar’s
eco-friendly fleet includes vehicles with CO2 emissions
of less than 140gr/km and models equipped with alternative
engines (hybrid or electric) or that are compatible
with biofuels, bio ethanol and natural gas.
In addition
to adding a section dedicated to eco-friendly cars,
specific information is available on CO2 emissions
for all models of its rental car fleet. The European
energy rating system from A to G is given with the
description of each vehicle, the greenest of which
is labelled “eco-friendly”.
The initiative
is part of Europcar’s commitment to protecting
the environment. A pioneer in this sector, Europcar
opened its first eco-friendly agency in Paris in 1999.
It was the first European company to develop an Environmental
Charter certified by Bureau Veritas in 2008.
Europcar
was also the first ever company to win “World’s
Leading Green Transport Solution Company” at
the World Travel Awards.
